The National-Liberal Opposition has announced some portfolio changes to the Shadow Ministry.
Deputy Opposition Leader Shane Love will now be responsible for the Local Government portfolio as well as retaining his existing roles.
Ms Davies said Deputy Leader of the Opposition Shane Love was well placed to take on the Local Government portfolio, having served in the sector for 12 years, including over 8 years as a Shire President.
“We will continue to work collaboratively with the local government sector as these reforms progress,” she said.
Leader of the WA Liberal Party Dr David Honey will add Shadow Water Minister to his current portfolios.
A standalone portfolio of Metronet has also been created and will be taken on by Hon Tjorn Sibma MLC, Member for North Metropolitan Region.
Ms Davies said the creation of the Metronet portfolio would ensure the Opposition maintained a keen focus on the McGowan Government’s major election commitment.
“WA taxpayers deserve to know if this Labor Government is delivering what they promised,” she said.
“Any cost blowouts and delays will impact other spending priorities in the State and have serious implications for the State’s bottom line.”
Opposition Leader Mia Davies has added the Regional Cities portfolio to her existing roles.
