Opposition Leader Shane Love MLA has thanked outgoing Liberal Leader Libby Mettam for her service and leadership, following her decision to step down from the role.
“I want to acknowledge and sincerely thank Libby Mettam for her dedication as Leader of the Liberal Party and her tireless commitment to public life,” Mr Love said.
“Libby has played a vital role in holding the Cook Labor Government to account, particularly through her outstanding work as Shadow Minister for Health, shining a light on Labor’s failures in our health system, from record ambulance ramping to staff shortages and broken promises.”
Mr Love confirmed he had spoken with Ms Mettam today to thank her personally for her contribution.
“Libby has made a significant impact as Liberal Leader over the past two years, and I know she will continue to be a passionate advocate for the people of Vasse and a valuable member of Parliament.
“I look forward to seeing her continue to play a key role in the Opposition team.”
Mr Love said he remains committed to working closely with the Liberal Party in the new Parliament.
“Our shared focus is to provide a strong, united Opposition that holds Labor to account and delivers better outcomes for Western Australians.”
